Ps 19:14 – Let the sayings of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, Be for a pleasing thing before Thee, O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer! (YLT)
The more diligent we are in working God’s word into our life by letting go our own words and thoughts, and the things of this world, the more single-mindedly and whole heartedly we can devote our entire selves to God.
Making known to us the mystery of his will.
Eph 1:9-10 – making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. (ESV)
Mystery: that which is known to “the initiated.” That which, being outside the range of unassisted natural apprehension, can be made known only by divine revelation, and is made known in a manner and at a time appointed by God, and to those only who are illumined by his Spirit. It is truth revealed.
Set apart for holiness by means of the truth.
John 17:16-23 – [Jesus speaking to his Father] They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. Set them apart for holiness by means of the truth — your word is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. On their behalf I am setting myself apart for holiness, so that they too may be set apart for holiness by means of the truth.
“I pray not only for these, but also for those who will trust in me because of their word, that they may all be one. Just as you, Father, are united with me and I with you, I pray that they may be united with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. The glory which you have given to me, I have given to them; so that they may be one, just as we are one — I united with them and you with me, so that they may be completely one, and the world thus realize that you sent me, and that you have loved them just as you have loved me. (CJB)
No effort on our part, other than working God’s word into our lives my surrendering to his Living Word, can affect this unity that Jesus asks of his Father.
The breath of the Almighty.
But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. (Job 32:8 ESV)
Breath by breath. Become conscious of the presence of the Almighty in you. Surrender to the influence of the breath of the Almighty.
I invite you to join me in seeking the mystery of God’s will.
May mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you!
