Meditative – Now My Eye Sees You

Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?

Words – Thoughts – And Nurturing Our Souls

The sayings of my mouth
And the meditation of my heart
Are powerful
Leading either to separation or unity, to fear or to love, to lies or to truth, to death or to life.

When the sayings of our mouth and the meditation of our heart are grounded upon and flow from God’s living Word, they are infused with the healing and life-changing power of Love and Grace and Fellowship.

This meditation is about the path to life. Discovering why the Lord God is not satisfied with our flesh and how letting it go is a key component in our journey in recovering spiritual truth, and rediscovering who we really are. It is taken from the Study Blog titled Now My Eye Sees You if you’d like to check out the Scripture texts that it’s based on.

My prayer for you is that you will encounter the breath of the Almighty as you experience and contemplate this meditation and that your weary soul will be satisfied, and your languishing soul will be replenished.

But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. Job 32:8 (ESV)

Do you regularly focus on your soul’s condition and needs as you do your body’s condition and needs?

“Be still and know that I am God.”

Be still.
Consciousness. Awareness.

Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?

The hand of God has touched me
To reach
To arrive
To acquire
Violently, to strike, punish, defeat, destroy, bring down
Draw near
Join

God pursues me.
To persecute
To run after, usually with hostile intent
Chase
Put to flight
Follow after
Hunt

Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?

My flesh
My body
My person
My nakedness
My skin
My pudenda, external genitals

The Lord God
Desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power
Has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction
In order to make known the riches of his glory
For vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Consciousness. Awareness.

The hand of God has touched me
God pursues me
God has overthrown me
To turn upside down
To turn, bend, twist, pull or force away violently with a twisting motion
To take or extract by force

Therefore,
Prepare your mind for action
Prepare your mind for the action of the Lord God

Human and divine intellect in union

Be aware of
Feel
Perceive
Be sure.
Gird up the loins of your mind
Gird up the procreative power of your mind
With the power and influence of the Lord God.

Is not your fear of God your confidence?

God-consciousness consistently, compassionately, mercifully
Swallowing up ego-consciousness to give new, abundant life.
I know
I know that my Redeemer lives,
I know
I know that at the last my Redeemer will stand upon the earth.
I know
I know that after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God
I know
I know that I will see God for myself
I know
I know that my eyes shall behold him, and not another.
I know.

I know
The hand of God has touched me
God pursues me
God has overthrown me
To turn upside down
To turn, bend, twist, pull or force away violently with a twisting motion
To take or extract by force

I know
I know the Lord God has consumed me
Consumed
To end
To cease
To be finished
To perish
To complete
To prepare
To accomplish
To determine
To bring to pass
To wholly reap

I know
I know the Lord God has consumed
Consumed my reins
My mind.
My heart faints.
My heart grows weak.
My ego-conscious mind and heart consumed
To bring about God-conscious mind.

The ego-conscious mind
Satisfied with the flesh
Righteous in its own eyes
Justifies itself
Finds no answer
Opens its mouth in empty talk
Multiplies words without knowledge
Does not know the works of the One who is perfect in knowledge
Does not know that the One perfect in knowledge treats no one unfairly
Does not know that the One perfect in knowledge will not violate justice and abundant righteousness
Does not know that the One perfect in knowledge does not regard any who are wise in their own conceit.

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Consciousness. Awareness.

Out of the whirlwind
The Lord God speaks.
Who is this?
Who is this that darkens counsel?
By words
Words without knowledge?

Job
The Lord God himself declared Job to be blameless and righteous,
A man who fears God and turns away from evil
Still, the Lord God asks, “Who is this?”
As he constantly, consistently exposes and reveals the reasonings of his heart
Consuming his ego-conscious mind and heart
To bring about his God-conscious mind.
Job admitted that he was the one who babbled on about things far beyond his understanding
And asked for forgiveness.

Then Job worshiped, describing his state of consciousness.
I had heard of you
Crusts of hearsay
Crumbs of rumor
But now!
Now I have it all firsthand
My eye
Sees you.

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Consciousness. Awareness.

My eye.
A fountain as the eye of the landscape.
Now my eye sees you, Lord God.
Previously, I could not see beyond myself
My own ego-consciousness.
Now my eye sees you.
I behold you.
I have personal experience.
I gaze.
I consider.
I discern.
I take heed.
I meet.
I have respect.
You are near.
Present.
I perceive.
You let me see.
You cause me to see.
You make me to enjoy.
You make me joyful.

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Consciousness. Awareness.

How the Lord God wants each and every one of us to experience what Job experienced!
Firsthand.
Now my sees you, Lord God!
Whether we are aware of it or not
Our flesh, our outer nature is wasting away
While, at the same time, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.
Whether we are aware of it or not
These slight momentary afflictions are preparing for us
Preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.

Look!
Not to the things that are seen
See!
See with a different eye.
See things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen with the eye of flesh,
Seen through ego-consciousness
Are transient.
But the things that are unseen with the eye of the flesh
Unseen through ego-consciousness
Seen with a different eye
Seen through the eye of God-consciousness
Are eternal.

“Be still and know that I am God.”
Consciousness. Awareness.

Why are you not satisfied with my flesh, Lord God?
Because you want me to long for and seek for and see you with a different eye!
So that you know me, Lord God,
So that I know you, as you know me.
God-consciousness consistently, compassionately, mercifully
Swallowing up ego-consciousness to give new, Abundant Life.

Prepare to enter contemplation, into the presence of your constant companions, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of Holy Spirit, to nurture your soul.

Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Focus intently on your breath to the exclusion of all else.
For it is the spirit in you,
The breath of the Almighty,
That makes you understand.
Spirit can be known only by spirit
God’s Spirit and your spirit in open communion.

Consciousness. Awareness.
“Be still and know that I am God.”

This is one path to exercising your role in preparing your mind, girding up the loins of your mind, the procreative power of your mind, to be the channel of God’s grace. With each inhalation willingly receive divine influence upon your mind and heart, open to seeing with a different eye. With each exhalation, allow your ego-consciousness to be swallowed up by God-consciousness to receive new, Abundant life.

Be silent with a sense of anticipation. It is here in this openness and focused attention and intention where the breath of the Almighty will make you understand that you really are who he says you are in Christ. Blameless. Upright. Fears God and turns away from evil. Whole. Complete. Flourishing. Well off. Innocent. Perfect. Free from pretense. Complete Truth.

Close your eyes. Stay in this position of quiet anticipation for as long as you can.

When ready
Open your eyes
Breathe in
Breathe out

Go, and live as you really are, as the breath of the Almighty in you nurtures and matures the simplicity and singleness of devotion to the Lord God that is in Christ Jesus. Live in wholehearted devotion to the Lord God, through the breath of the Almighty in you, today and every day. Awaken to life through God-centered consciousness, your eyes ever toward the Lord God, your Helper.

Phil 4:23 – The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. (ESV)
